How long have you been using BeneTrac?
We started with BeneTrac in February 2001.
As an H.R. professional, what comments would you offer about BeneTrac?
It has made my life so much easier. The service is fabulous. Their customer service people are phenomenal. They are always going the extra mile for any thing that we want. You can just log onto the system and make your changes and they take care of getting the information to the carriers. I never worry about it getting to the right person. They take care of everything.
This year, they set us up on self billing with a couple of carriers. Pretty much every Section 125 benefit is on our Benetrac system. Our carriers include Blue Shield, Kaiser, Sharp Healthnet, Guardian Dental & Vision, Prudential Life and their long-term disability products.
How is the daily process of using BeneTrac?
It's very user friendly. You can go in and pull any kind of a report for any reason and get all sorts of breakdowns. It's great for billing, reconciling, and making sure each person has the right coverage, etc. There are so many different kinds of reports. The one I used today was the HIPPA report. It lets me see the benefits that each employee has. In our company, benefits are charged to each department, so being able to obtain department reports is very important. You can run reports by carrier, by department, by individual. It's almost limitless. BeneTrac is also ADP compatible, which is great for downloads.
Have you needed to have it customized?
They added direct billing for optional life this year. That was always a drawback because, before this year, it wasn't on the BeneTrac system. Now we have everything. It's been really wonderful.
How is open enrollment handled?
Open enrollment is fabulous. Our employees go online at their desk. Each employee has an access code. They can go on at anytime to see what their benefits are. They can make address changes, add dependents. From there, the information is forwarded on to H.R. for a final review and approval. We send it to BeneTrac
and they forward it to the carriers.
Are there other advantages to using BeneTrac?
It's completely paperless. We have no papers to file. You can easily look up anyone's history and see changes made since the inception of the system.
